A bare SMTP_FROM address gets the display name in the From header; a name already in SMTP_FROM wins, the envelope keeps the bare address. Also a field in the admin mail settings. sandrodachandClaude Opus 5.5	d8a16c6775	fix(smtp): AUTH LOGIN fallback when PLAIN is refused ... Servers like Postfix with Dovecot SASL or Exchange can fail PLAIN with 451 4.3.2 but accept LOGIN. MindSift now uses LOGIN directly when it is the only mechanism, and otherwise reconnects and retries with LOGIN after a refused PLAIN (net/smtp closes the connection on a failed AUTH). If both fail with 451, the error names both attempts and points to the server's SASL backend. LOGIN, like PLAIN, is never sent unencrypted to remote hosts. sandrodachandClaude Opus 5.5	ce321ce579	fix(smtp): proper SMTP dialogue, encoded mails, optional skip-verify ... - Explicit SMTP flow (dial -> EHLO -> STARTTLS -> AUTH -> MAIL/RCPT/DATA) with errors naming the refusing step (also logged as smtp_step) - EHLO with the sender's domain instead of "localhost" - Envelope gets the bare address; "Name <addr>" stays in the From header (was rejected as invalid MAIL FROM) - Date and Message-ID headers, RFC 2047 subject, quoted-printable body - SMTP_SKIP_VERIFY / admin switch for self-signed certificates; SMTP checkboxes are switches now - Tests against a fake SMTP server (STARTTLS, 451, display names) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>	2026-10-28 22:28:26 +01:00
